Library

The St Raphael's The school library is a wonderful, well resourced  facility situated in the old convent building.

Library Borrowing

All students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are encouraged to borrow from the library. The school library is a wonderfuly library that is well resourced. Primary (K-6) students have borrowing time allocated within their library lesson each fortnight.  Each fortnight infants (K-2) students have an additional borrowing session where they are escorted by their class teacher to borrow. Secondary students also have borrowing time allocated on a regular basis.

All students K-12 are encouraged to visit the library outside of the allocated borrowing time should they want to borrow. The library is accessible during break times.

Resource suggestions:

We try to keep the library well resources with a current, curriculum related and inspiring selection of books.  To help us do so, please feel free to make any suggestions.

Book of the Year:
The Children's Book Council of Australia ( CBCA) aims to engage the community with literature for young Australians. The CBCA  presents annual awards to books of literary merit, for outstanding contribution to Australian children's literature. Each year our library displays the shortlist texts and classes study a selection of texts in lessons. During Book Week each year after the announcement of the winners,  St Raphael's celebrates with a Book parade. Students from Kindergarten to Year Six take part, with family and friends as the audience.
